PRESIDENTIAL candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 election, Mr Peter Obi, has formally announced his intention to contest the 2027 presidential election, declaring that he is determined to change the course of Nigeria’s development within a single four-year term if elected. Obi, who made the declaration during a recent media interaction, said he would not seek re-election after one term, stressing that his sole mission would be to “stabilise, reform, and rebuild Nigeria for future generations.” He said his administration would focus on restoring security, reviving education, reducing poverty, and revitalising the economy to make the nation productive again.
