FLASH: 'When Will Atiku Report Himself to Trump?' — Presidency Fires Explosive Salvo at Atiku

STATEHOUSE PRESS STATEMENT WHEN WILL ATIKU ABUBAKAR REPORT HIMSELF TO PRESIDENT TRUMP? Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s relentless desire to become President of Nigeria has regrettably closed his eyes to the virtues of statesmanship, decorum, and propriety expected of an elder statesman. Instead of embracing the dignity and maturity that come with his standing, he continues to diminish himself through reckless public statements and desperate political manoeuvres. It is baffling and disappointing that someone who has sought the presidency for over three decades now resorts to reporting the President of Nigeria to US President Donald Trump and members of the US Congress. In his latest act, Atiku Abubakar’s lobbying group in the US has submitted petitions to President Trump and the US State Department regarding a civil forfeiture case from 1993—a matter long settled, with no criminal conviction or finding of guilt. Demola Oshodi, Senior Special Assistant (Protocol) to President Bola Tinubu, has explained why individuals such as former INEC Chairman Mahmood Yakubu, ex-Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode, and former presidential aide Reno Omokri were included in the recently released ambassadorial list. President Tinubu last week forwarded a list of ambassadorial nominees to the National Assembly for screening and confirmation. He noted that what matters is maintaining balance in the appointments, adding that Nigerians should understand the President’s considerations for what would make his administration successful. “We vot...

BREAKING: Presidency Reveals Stories About Alleged Coup Damaging To Nigeria's Economy

The Presidency has cautioned that recent media reports alleging coup plots are damaging Nigeria’s economy and discouraging foreign investment. Speaking on Arise News’ Prime Time programme on Thursday, Special Adviser to the President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, warned that sensational stories about national security could erode investor confidence and harm the country’s reputation. “When a country is looking for investment and the media are shouting ‘coup attempt,’ it scares investors away. Stories like that can destroy the country’s reputation and economy. We need to wait for facts, evidence, not rumours,” Onanuga said. Onanuga urged the media and the public to exercise restraint, stressing that official investigations must be allowed to run their course before conclusions are drawn. He explained that although the military had confirmed some arrests were under investigation, “no credible evidence had been established linking them to a coup attemp...
