Makinde's Ally, Senator Agboola(Alleluyah) Quits Oyo PDP, Fuels 2027 Speculations

In a bombshell announcement, Senator Hosea Ayoola Agboola, popularly known as Alleluyah, has quit the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) amid swirling rumors of his ambitions for the 2027 governorship seat in Oyo State.

Agboola, a key figure in Oyo State politics, cited "future political pursuit" as the reason for his departure from the party he served for years. Insiders claim the senator's decision was motivated by his desire to explore other political options ahead of the 2027 elections.

He announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The resignation, which took effect on October 10, 2025, comes after years of service to the party.

According to a letter addressed to the PDP Chairman in Otu, Oyo State, Senator Agboola cited "future political pursuit" as the reason for his decision. He expressed gratitude to the party for the opportunities afforded him to serve as a member and leader.

The senator's resignation has sent shockwaves through the Oyo State political landscape, with many speculating about his next move. As a prominent figure in Oyo State politics, having served as the Senate Deputy Chief Whip and Governor Seyi Makinde's Advisory Council Chairman, Agboola's decision is seen as a significant blow to the PDP.

Agboola's resignation letter reads, "I Senator Hosea Ayoola Agboola, a member of the People's Democratic Party and a leader both at the state and national level appreciate the party for the opportunities afforded me to serve the party as a member and leader of the party as well as the achievement made therein. However, I have decided to resign my membership from the party effective from 10 October 2025."

This development has sparked intense speculation about Agboola's future plans, with many believing he may be eyeing the Oyo State governorship seat in 2027.
