BREAKING: INEC declares APGA candidate and incumbent Governor of Anambra State, Charles Soludo of winner of the 2025 Governorship Election.

The candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Charles Chukwuma Soludo, has been officially declared the winner of the 8 November 2025 governorship election in Anambra State. In a statement issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Soludo was confirmed as the successful candidate after the collation of results across the 21 local government areas of the state.

According to INEC’s published summary of results, Soludo secured a decisive lead across the majority of the local government areas, with his party maintaining dominance in traditional strongholds. Voter turnout in some polling units was reported to be below expectations, but INEC said overall accreditation and results uploading were proceeding smoothly.

On election day, polls opened across the state’s 5,720 polling units with over 2.8 million registered voters eligible to cast ballots. Several result‐sheets from individual polling units showed APGA clearly ahead of rivals such as the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Labour Party (LP). Meanwhile, reports emerged of alleged vote‐buying and low voter turnout in some locations.

Governor Soludo thanked voters for their trust and pledged to build on his first term’s achievements. He reiterated that his next term would focus on infrastructure, job creation and education.
Opposing parties raised concerns over the transparency of some units, with the APC candidate alleging vote‐buying in parts of the state.

With the result officially declared, Soludo will be sworn in for his next term in accordance with the constitutional timelines.
