Oyo State Unveils Digital Land Survey Plan Registry to Enhance Transparency and Efficiency in Land Administration

The Oyo State Government has officially launched the Digital Land Survey Plan Registry (DLSPR), a landmark initiative aimed at transforming land administration through digital innovation, transparency, efficiency, and improved public service delivery.

The Digital Land Survey Plan Registry is a state-of-the-art platform designed to modernize the registration, management, verification, and spatial analysis of survey plans. By digitizing these critical processes, the platform will provide faster, more secure, transparent, and reliable services to licensed surveyors, land professionals, investors, government agencies, and the general public.

Speaking on the initiative, the Honourable Commissioner for Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Akin-Funmilayo Williams, said the launch of the DLSPR marks another significant milestone in Governor Engr. Seyi Makinde's digital governance agenda, which continues to prioritize innovation as a catalyst for economic growth, ease of doing business, and improved public service delivery.

The Commissioner expressed profound appreciation to His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, FNSE, DSc, GSSRS, for his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to leveraging technology to modernize land administration and strengthen institutional efficiency across Oyo State.

According to him, the Digital Land Survey Plan Registry will significantly improve the integrity of land records, reduce processing time, eliminate manual bottlenecks, enhance transparency, and increase public confidence in the State's land administration system. The initiative will also provide accurate and reliable geospatial information to support sustainable development, urban planning, and evidence-based decision-making.

As part of the implementation process, the Office of the Surveyor-General commenced the training of 40 personnel who will acquire the technical skills required for the effective deployment and management of the Digital Land Survey Plan Registry. Participants were encouraged to demonstrate dedication, professionalism, and commitment throughout the programme, as they will play a crucial role in ensuring the long-term success and sustainability of the initiative.

Hon. Akin-Funmilayo Williams further disclosed that both the digital platform and the training programme are sponsored by the Oyo State Government through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) between the Oyo State Government and Private Networks Nigeria Limited. He added that participants who successfully complete the training programme will be offered temporary employment opportunities to support the deployment and operation of the Digital Land Survey Plan Registry.

The Office of the Surveyor-General also appreciated the Federal School of Surveying, Oyo, for its invaluable technical support and collaboration, which have contributed immensely to the successful implementation of the project and strengthened local capacity for modern land administration.

The launch of the Digital Land Survey Plan Registry reinforces the Oyo State Government's commitment to building a technology-driven public sector that delivers efficient, transparent, secure, and citizen-centred services. 

It also positions Oyo State as a leading destination for investment, strengthens land governance, improves the ease of doing business, and advances sustainable development for the benefit of all residents.
