Osun 2026: Adeleke Leads Oyebamiji by Over 66,000 Votes as 30 LGAs Report

Osogbo, Osun State — August 16, 2026 
Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party has taken a commanding lead in the 2026 Osun State governorship election, according to the latest results public on INEC Irev.

The results show Adeleke with 491,975 votes, representing 51.9 per cent of the valid votes counted, while the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, has 425,731 votes, representing 44.9 per cent.

Adeleke is therefore ahead by 66,244 votes.

ADC candidate Salaam Najeem Folasayo is currently in third position with 16,513 votes, while other candidates recorded significantly lower totals.

According to the figures, results from all 30 local government areas have been reported. Adeleke leads in 19 LGAs, while Oyebamiji leads in 11 LGAs.

Adeleke recorded particularly strong performances in Osogbo, where he polled 35,794 votes against Oyebamiji's 29,765; Ede North, where he secured 33,919 votes to APC's 9,890; and Ede South, where he recorded 26,026 votes against 6,166 for Oyebamiji.

The APC candidate, however, secured notable victories in areas including Irewole, where he polled 28,391 votes against Adeleke's 10,867, as well as Boripe and Atakumosa East.

The reported figures are based on aggregated polling-unit results and remain subject to the official collation and declaration by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The final winner will be formally declared by the returning officer at the central collation centre in Osogbo.
