JUST IN: JAMB Restores CAPS, Gives Institutions New Admission Push



The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has restored its Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) after a temporary disruption, allowing institutions to continue processing admissions for the 2026/2027 academic session.

JAMB said CAPS is now fully operational and urged institutions to speed up their admission processes to recover lost time and meet the approved deadlines.

For the ongoing admission exercise, public universities have until October 31, 2026, to complete their admission processes, while private universities have until November 30, 2026.

The board also advised candidates who receive admission offers to accept them promptly through the required process.

JAMB further asked candidates who were previously waiting for their results to upload or verify their credentials following the release of the 2026 NECO Senior School Certificate Examination results.

According to the board, updating the credentials will ensure that candidates have the required documents available for consideration as institutions intensify their admission processes.

JAMB urged candidates, institutions and other stakeholders to take advantage of the restored CAPS and continue the admission exercise within the approved timelines.

The board apologised for the inconvenience caused by the temporary disruption and thanked candidates and institutions for their patience and understanding.
