EFCC Not Ready 5 Months After Saying Tompolo ‘Has Questions to Answer’
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is under public scrutiny for its failure to prosecute Government Ekpumupolo, a former militant leader also known as Tompolo. Tompolo became a person of interest to the anti-graft agency when videos of his birthday celebration began to circulate. In the videos, Tompolo can be seen throwing naira notes in the air and stepping on them. On May 12, the EFCC made an X post saying Tompolo “will have questions to answer” following the incident.
