OYRLEA BEGINS SENSITIZATION CAMPAIGN AGAINST STREET TRADING

Ahead of an enforcement drive, the Oyo State Rule of Law Enforcement Authority, (ORLEA) has commenced a sensitization campaign against street trading across markets in the State.

ORLEA Chairperson, retired Justice Aderonke Aderemi, who flagged off the campaign at Bodija market in Ibadan, emphasized the need to maintain an orderly, coordinated and sustainable clean environment that enhances the infrastructural architecture of the State.

Aderemi warned that indiscriminate refuse disposal and trading in dirty environment is a violation of environmental laws, noting that the State Government is ready more than ever before to ensure that people comply with the rule of law.

Responding to some complaints made by the traders, She revealed that Governor Seyi Makinde has tasked the agency to liaise with concerned local government authorities to find safer alternative spots for street traders before evacuation from the road sides.
