MAKINDE RECEIVES TORCH OF UNITY, CHARGES OYO ATHLETES ON SPORTMANSHIP

Oyo state Governor Seyi Makinde has assured that his administration remains committed to sports development at all levels through the provision of necessary Infrastructure and training facilities.

He gave the assurance on Tuesday when the Torch of Unity for the 2025 National Sports Festival holding in Ogun State, tagged ‘Gateway 2025’, berthed in Ibadan where it was formally received by the State Deputy Governor, Barrister Bayo Lawal.
Barrister Lawal received the Torch from Mrs. Ekeana Ibora who led the roving delegation of the National Sports Commission as well as members of Team Oyo to his Office.

Governor Makinde in his message delivered by the Deputy Governor described the torch of Unity as a powerful symbol of peace, unity and brotherhood across the 36 States.

He urged members of Team Oyo to uphold the values of sportsmanship, integrity and exemplary representation at the national sports festival, with a pledge to reward athletes that bring honour to the State.
