Sowore Gives Update After Meeting Nnamdi Kanu’s Brother, Lawyer in Kuje Prison

Human rights activist Omoyele Sowore has given an update after visiting Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer, Barrister Aloy Ejimakor and his brother, Emmanuel Kanu, in Kuje Prison.

He gave the update on Wednesday.

Ejimakor, Emmanuel, Barrister Wisdom Okere and others were arrested on Monday during the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest in Abuja.

They were subsequently detained in the Kuje Prison.

In an update on Wednesday, Sowore confirmed a meeting he had with the detainees, stating that they are “all in high spirits”.

In a post on his Facebook page, Sowore said all hands are currently on deck to secure their release soon.
He wrote, “We had a productive meeting today with Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer, Barrister @AloyEjimakor, his brother Emmanuel Kanu, Barr. Wisdom Okere, and 10 others who were arrested and brutalized by the Nigeria Police Force for participating in a peaceful #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest at Kuje Prison.

“Despite the challenges they face, they are all in high spirits as we push for their release to continue the fight against oppression.

“Unfortunately, the @FCT_PoliceNG Command further maltreated them after we parted ways on Monday, by heavily unleashing tear gas against them within their premises before detaining them at the notorious #SARS Abattoir.”

Describing the development as highly condemnable, Sowore blasted the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for his “irresponsible leadership”.
