2027: Adelabu Vows People-Centred Governance, Says “I’m Not in the Race to Destroy People’s Properties"

The Minister of Power and Accord Party Governorship Candidate in the 2023 general election, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has assured the people of Oyo State that his 2027 governorship ambition is driven by compassion, inclusion, and genuine service to humanity.

Adelabu made this known while addressing supporters and stakeholders in Ibadan over the weekend, stressing that his political aspiration is not a quest for power but a call to serve with empathy and purpose.

“I am not in the race to destroy people’s properties when I become Oyo State Governor in 2027,” Adelabu said. “I am also part of the masses, and I understand their pains. I will never disappoint them.”

The former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria maintained that true governance should uplift lives, not diminish them. He vowed that, if elected, his administration would pursue development with a human face — protecting people’s investments while promoting sustainable urban renewal across the state.

According to him, leadership must reflect understanding and compassion for the people, particularly those at the grassroots.

“We can make Oyo State better without inflicting hardship on our people. Development must not come at the cost of people’s livelihood,” Adelabu added.

Adelabu reaffirmed his commitment to building an Oyo State where governance works for everyone — a state defined by progress, equity, and shared prosperity.
