“Gumi Told Me Boko Haram Had Boys Under 15 With Guns — And No Security Officer Ever Entered Sambisa as They Claimed” — Obasanjo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has revealed a shocking account of his discussions with Islamic cleric Sheikh Ahmad Gumi regarding the operations of Boko Haram insurgents in the Northeast.

Speaking in a newly surfaced video, Obasanjo said Gumi had informed him that Boko Haram fighters included children under the age of 15 armed with guns, highlighting the disturbing depth of the group’s recruitment and indoctrination.

The former president also challenged long-held claims by security agencies, stating that no officer ever penetrated the Sambisa Forest as previously announced during counter-insurgency operations.
According to Obasanjo, the revelations underscore years of misinformation and a need for sincere, strategic efforts to end insecurity in Nigeria.
