Why Tattoos Are Not Sinful – Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo

Popular relationship coach, Kingsley Okonkwo, has challenged the belief that tattoos are wrong for Christians, saying there is no scriptural or scientific proof to support this view.

TopTori reports that he revealed this during an interview on News Central TV.

The David’s Christian Centre pastor explained that opposition to tattoos often comes from personal opinions, church rules, or individual interpretations rather than the Bible.

He said that many people treat tattoos as a moral issue without providing clear reasons.

According to him, claiming tattoos are bad without evidence is unfair and misleading.

Okonkwo also spoke against judging people by their appearance, warning that such thinking limits growth and understanding.

He compared the stigma around tattoos to blaming clothing for crime.

For instance, he asked whether jeans should be considered bad just because someone wore them while committing a robbery.

The pastor stressed that tattoos do not determine a person’s character, noting that good and bad people alike can have tattoos, and it does not define who they are.

He argued that focusing on appearance rather than values is a flawed way to judge others.

Okonkwo also linked this mindset to the church’s hesitation to participate in politics.

He said many believers avoid certain areas because they are perceived as impure, which leaves critical roles in society to those considered unsuitable.

According to him, Christians should focus on their faith, character, and actions instead of judging others based on how they look or cultural norms.

The pastor recently sparked conversation online after sharing a Bible-inspired tattoo on his arm, featuring a representation of John 3:16.
