The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Candidate for Ibadan North East/Ibadan South East Federal Constituency in the 2027 general election, Hon. Adejoke Adekanmbi-Akinseye, PhD, has felicitated with Muslim faithful on the occasion of Hijrah 1448 AH, urging Nigerians to draw inspiration from the values of unity, compassion, tolerance, and selfless service that the Islamic New Year represents.
In a statement made available to newsmen on Tuesday in Ibadan, Adekanmbi-Akinseye described Hijrah as a significant period for spiritual reflection and a reminder of the need for individuals and leaders alike to remain committed to justice, peace, and the welfare of the people.
She noted that Nigeria’s challenges require collective responsibility, understanding, and genuine concern for one another, stressing that national development can only thrive in an atmosphere of harmony and mutual respect.
“The lessons of Hijrah remind us that difficult times can give way to greater opportunities when people remain steadfast, united, and committed to noble ideals. As we begin a new Islamic year, I encourage all Nigerians to promote peace, show kindness to the less privileged, and contribute positively to the growth of our communities,” she stated.
The PDP federal constituency candidate also called for continued prayers for the safe release of abducted pupils, teachers, and other victims of insecurity, while urging authorities to intensify efforts toward securing their freedom.
She expressed hope that the new Islamic year would usher in renewed hope, economic prosperity, and greater opportunities for citizens.
She wished Muslim faithful a blessed, peaceful, and fulfilling Hijrah 1448 AH celebration.
